Three decades after its creation, EGAP begins a new stage by joining the Department of Facenda and Public Administration. This challenge arises at a time of uncertainty in which the training and qualification of public employee personnel will constitute fundamental pieces to give an agile response to the needs of the citizens from the administrations.

In a rapidly evolving environment, due in part to the advancement of new technologies, having a professionalized, competent and effective public function is revealed as an essential factor to guarantee society's trust in institutions and to face current challenges with solvency and futures of the Galician society.

Through the competencies assigned to the EGAP and in line with the recommendations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on leadership and capacity in the public function, in this new stage we are committed to promoting a culture of proactive and innovative that favors the implementation of new policies and services, to strengthen the knowledge and skills of public personnel for their professional development and to work for an inclusive and safe public function that reflects social diversity. All of the above will allow us to have a transparent, modern and efficient Administration, in line with the needs and expectations of citizens and of the different economic actors of our autonomous community.

For these reasons, from the School we will continue working on the professionalization of the Galician public function through the promotion of continuous learning and innovation. In addition, we will continue to promote research in the field of Administration with our publications, which, undoubtedly to the value of study and improvement of the sector.
